OER's, Flipped Classrooms and PowerPoint
I very much like the concept of the flipped classroom. Basically, instead of the entire learning process taking place within the hour of a class during school, including lectures and preparation, lessons are prepared by the teachers and disseminated to the students online. This allows all of class time to be used for students to advance the concepts they were introduced to. When class ends, they can return to the lesson prep and reflect on the concepts that they have started on. I think that this is a much more effective method of learning, and should be implemented in many classrooms.
OER's are resources, such as textbooks, lectures, and software, that are open and free to use by students and educators alike. These kinds of resources make learning of all kinds more accessible to disadvantaged students. OER Commons is an online database dedicated to compiling these resources from different disciplines, all of it free and easily searchable. Link to the main page!
The PowerPoint Assignments were pretty fun! Honestly I had a blast making/adapting them. The first one was perhaps my favorite of the two, as I enjoy talking about literature and hope to teach it someday. Recording it properly was a bit of a task, but I got it done nonetheless!

The second assignment was much more challenging, but it was also pretty fun. I used a Jeopardy template to create an interactive game, with no particular grade or classroom setting in mind, which is why the categories are all over the place. It was satisfying to see all of it work smoothly after I was finished!
